About Tiicham Conservation District

Tiichám Conservation District started in 2004 as the first Tribal Conservation District in Oregon with a vision to shift land management for the region more toward a way that was in line with cultural values. Tiichám serves all lands within the ceded boundary of the Cayuse, Umatilla, Walla Walla Tribes which encompasses the full 6.4 million acres of aboriginal lands. Tiichám Conservation District still imbodies that intial vision today by working toward sustainable land stewardship and the well-being of our shared ecosystem for the next seven generations.

At Tiichám, we recognize the profound impact that human activities can have on the environment, and we believe in taking proactive measures to ensure the conservation of our natural resources. The district serves as a beacon of collaboration, bringing together communities, stakeholders, and conservation enthusiasts to foster a collective responsibility for the environment.

Tiichám is not just an organization; it's a community united by a shared love for Mother Earth. Our team of dedicated professionals, volunteers, and supporters work together to implement impactful projects, raise awareness, and engage in educational initiatives that empower individuals to make informed decisions for the benefit of our planet.
